Crafters Companion 4 day Deal

Morning lovelies
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and for the uk mothers I hope you all had a lovely Mothers day.
The lovely Dawn Wheeler launched the super cute Barkley Four day deal on Create and Craft this morning, so I wanted to share with you some more of my samples that I made.
I created a Gate Fold card with a slight twist for this sample, I have used a topper from the kit, one of the inserts & some Kraft card…I think this one is my favorite image because my pups both used to carry my slippers round.

I loved making this card because it is my favorite colour 🙂
I have used one sheet of the coordinating card, one of the toppers, a sentiment and then just added some Ribbon, Pearl Swirls, Core’dinations G45 card stock and some brads…such a beautiful image this one.
Here is the show times for the four day deal
Make sure you tune in to see Dawn do some fab demos, show you the rest of the fab Barkley range & also check out the amazing samples from the team.
Happy Crafting 🙂

Visible Image Window hanger

Morning everyone 🙂 I hope you are well ?
Firstly sorry for my lack of visiting, I have been very busy and to add to it I have been poorly…but on the mend now and here I am today with a Window Hanger using some of the fab Visible Image Stamps
This is what I created…This picture doesn’t show how bright the colours are really.
So how did I create it ? Well firstly i started by cutting 2 hearts with the centre removed, I used Greyboard to do this but any think card is ok.
I then took my black Spectrum Noir and coloured the hearts, make sure you go around all the edges.
You then need to take some Acetate and pick a selection of Spectrum Noir pens…it can be any Alcohol marker, but it has to be alcohol, the colours I used are listed at the bottom…Random ally colour your acetate, i wanted the effect of grass, sky, sun with mine , but you can do anything.
Now take your blender refil and drop a drop onto a paintbrush and flick, now the trick to this is too build up the effect, but have fun with it.
This was after a few mins and was the effect I wanted, set it aside to dry fully for 10 mins.
I then took the flower from More Than Words Thank you set & Butterfly stamp and stamped on the reverse (take that into account when stamping, you can stamp on the same side but the stamp won’t be crisp), make sure you use Stazon ink for this, I then stamped the butterfly image onto some Acetate and cut it out and put to one side.
Now using a good strong glue (I use Collall all purpose) you need to glue your heart frame on either side of your acetate and leave to dry.
Once dry you want to punch a hole to hang it by and then seal the card, I have used Globecraft & Piccolo Glastique Finishing Glaze, but Glossy Accents or even UTEE would work.
Once dry take your Butterfly and bend up the wings and fix over the stamped butterfly so that you have a 3D effect.

I then added a layer of Spray & Sparkle to give it a extra layer of protection and also some sparkle.
And there you have it, a fun technique which will be totally unique each and everytime.
Items used-
Spectrum Noirs-
Blender Refill, TB3,TB5,BT9,JG3,LV3, Black
Greyboard & Acetate
Crop a dile
Spray & Sparkle.

Barkley 4 day deal sneeky peek…

Morning lovelies,
I am sorry for being so quiet over the last week…I do have a a good excuse though !
For those that haven’t seen on Facebook I have recently Joined the amazing Crafters Companion design team.
Starting on Monday 31st March 8am GMT the Lovely Dawn Wheeler will be showcasing the AMAZING Barkley Four Day Deal.
I have been working with the paperkit and it is a lovely Kit.
The Range will include –
A4 paper pad
6×6 paper pad
Epoxy Stickers
A4 Decoupage
A4 Die cuts
6×6 Acrylic Stamp set
2 5×7 Embossing folders
And there will also be 3 Hunkydory Paperkits (these are what I have been playing with and are brilliant)
This was made using one of the concept cards in the kits, so simple and yet so beautiful.
All I have added is some flowers, Ribbon & a button…brilliant if you want a nice quick, yet different card….and how cute is it ?
I made something slightly different here and using Greyboard I cut out a heart, I embossed some Coordinations using the beautiful Decorative Heart Embossing Folder  and using my cropadile I punch a hole for hanging. The heart topper had a scalloped edge but I cut that off and then distress the edges using some Distress ink.
I added some pink net behind it and  then mounted it onto the hanging and added some flowers, hatpins & Ribbon….this shows these kits aren’t just for cards, this would make such a pretty gift for someone.
To check out more of the Barkley Range head on over to the Crafters Companion Site , all of the four day deal would be perfect for anyone to add to their excising Barkley products.
Keep checking back and I will share more sneek peeks before Monday 🙂

Globecraft & Piccolo Butterfly card

Morning everyone .
I have a card to show you this week that I have created using Mermaid Tears Embossing Enamel and the lovely Fanciful-Butterflies stamp set from Sweet Stamps.

To change the colour slightly I used a bright pink pigment ink as a base, I was surprised at how much this changed the colour of the powder, especially on the butterflies.
The powders worked perfectly with this stamps, which is brilliant because they have some fine detailing.
I hope I have inspired you to have a play with your Enamel powders.
Happy Crafting 🙂

Acrylic charm using Spectrum Noirs.

Morning Everyone 🙂
I wanted to share with you a fun and different charm I made using Acrylic Bezel
I think this is one of my favorite projects, and it was so much fun to do.
Here is how I created it-

Firstly items needed are:
Piccolo of your choice
Spectrum Noir Markers & Blender ink refil
Stazon ink pad
Script Stamp
Chain or fixing of choice
Fine Paintbrush
1. Take your Acrylic Bezel and randomally colour the Acrylic Bezel on one size….you do not have to be neat at all with this stage.
2. Take your paintbrush and drop 1-2drops of your blending ink refill onto the bristles, Then “flick” this across the bezel, you will then get a mottled effect…if you want more use more ink, if you want less recolour and start again.
3. Stamp using your Stazon and script stamp, I overstamped but this is totally upto you.
4. Melt some UTEE in your meltpot and dip your Piccolo to give it a nice even coating….If you do not have a meltpot just use your Enamel powder Adhesive and give your Piccolo 2-3 coats with the UTEE.
5. Stick into place on your Bezel and allow to dry.
6. Once Dry give it a nice thick layer of UV Resin and allow to set either in a sunny window, or using a UV lamp.
7. Once the uv resin has set finish off with your fixing of choice.
The brilliant thing about this no item will ever be the same due to the refill ink !
There is lots of different shapes and sizes of Acrylic Bezel, as well as lots of  Piccolo so you could produce so many different looks with this….Have fun !

Globecraft & Piccolo Key chain

Morning everyone it is Tuesday which means Globecraft & Piccolo  day from me.
Mothers day & spring are nearly upon us here in the UK, and when I saw Floral Eggs in the new release I had the perfect idea for them, I decided to make a nice keyring…here is how I did it…
I one of the Acrylic Oval Charms & two of the pansy Floral Eggs

I gave both the eggs two coats of Copper Kettle Embossing Enamel, once I did that I stuck them onto heatproof acetate, the eggs are going to go back to back, so make sure you stick the acetate onto the correct side.

I then cut around the eggs so they now have a acetate backing.

Using my Spectrum Noir pens I coloured the flowers & leafs, I did this from the back.

I then removed the protective film from the Acrylic Oval Charms and glued an egg to each side, making sure they line up.

I then gave the Oval a coating of Turquoise 3D enamel gel, allowing each side plenty of time to dry.

Once dry I took some fine sandpaper and “roughed” up the Enamel gel..I wanted this to have an aged look, if you do not want this then ship the next few steps…I then used some Distress stain and rubbed over the gel, wiping off the excess.
I then used some Gilding Wax around the edges.

Each side was then given a layer of UV Resin to give extra protection and had a key chain added .
And there you go, a lovely floral key chain.
Items used-
Distress Stain
Gilding Wax
Spectrum Noir Pens
