Simon Saturday Gift Tags.

Hey guys I hope you are having a nice weekend so far.

It’s time for Simon Saturday

So what do you all think of the new Simon release ? It’s another great one isn’t it.

Today I am sharing a quick project I created using one of the new stamp sets from the release. To check out some other bits I created from this release then click here.

For the last 4-5 holiday time I have said that I want to create our own gift tags, we tend to use fairly plain gift wrap and I love creating lots of bows etc and I honestly really enjoy wrapping gifts, but I NEVER get round to doing the tags and the worse thing is it is only me, hubs and a few friends so I don’t even have to create that many.

But this year i REALLY do want to create our own tags so I made a start YAY me.

One of the new stamp sets is awesome because it has a real nice mix of stamps for all occasions and it has a really pretty tree and sentiment for Christmas, just perfect for tags.

I used a tag die to cut the tags all out of Kraft card. I cut the little hole covers (I have no idea what they are called) out of co ordinating card and put to one side.

I decided to emboss the tree’s using different colour embossing powders (all are linked below) and then stamped the Merry Christmas using Versafine Onyx Black.

I was going to leave it at that….but you all know me by now and I felt it just needed something more so I pulled out my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens in co-ordinating colours and coloured the trees and then splattered across the tags.

You can see the gorgeous dealing on the stamp here, it is so pretty.

To finish off i adhered the hole covers using Ranger Multi Medium matte and added some natural twine….I might swap this out for ribbon but i’m not sure yet.

Super easy and quick tags which I can produce in bulk. I highly encourage anyone to invest in this set as it really is gorgeous and is my favourite from the new release.

Winners

As always a huge thank you to everyone who commented on my last Simon Saturday Post I have used Random.org to select two winners for the $20 gift certificates and they are…..

Congratulations ladies, if you contact me at inkyfingersandribbon@gmail.com to claim your prize.

Question…

I wanted to ask you guys what you would like me to do for future Simon Saturday posts.

Would you rather I do one post a month, or continue to do two ?

Also let me know what content you would like, would you rather I focus on new releases more or continue to mix it up ? I really would love everyones input as it is you guys who continue to support the series so I feel you should have a say in where it goes.

Also regarding the giveaways…these giveaways aren’t sponsored by Simon and are done purely by me but would you rather i continued with the Gift Certificates or if I did actual product giveaways ?

Please let me know below what you guys think, I really would appreciate it.

Thank you guys so much for stopping by.

Happy Crafting

I just found you and love your style. I love to search for new ideas or to see what crafters are creating so if it isn’t too difficult, I’d like to see 2 posts a month. I also like to see a mix of products. Sometimes I am a little slow to jump on the bandwagon with the new stuff(more a budget thing). You are so generous to do these giveaways on your own! Thank you😊, I like them because you can get what you want. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you so much for kind comment. I love it when I get a new visitor 🙂

I know what you mean regarding budget which is why i do try and do a mix for people 🙂

I put that set on my wishlist–along with just about the entire release–haha! The trees are beautiful & love the coloring with the sparkle pens. I’ve never tried splattering with them–how did you do that? The twine looks great, but I love ribbon–hard decision! You can post as often as you want, Tracy–you always inspire me! I love seeing projects to help me decide what to buy. Your post made me move this set up on my list. The gc are the best prize, I think–no postage for you when you’re already so generous to do this & people can get what they really want. I have a whole set of planner stamps that were part of a prize, but I will never use them & they may end up at the second hand store which is really sad. Hope you have a great week!

It is a fab release isn’t it, I have to admit I have really struggled with what to buy straight away and what will wait until next months, the stencils are gorgeous too.

With the splatter i VERY gently squeeze a small amount onto the edge of a stamping block and then flick it across the project using a brush, my gold pen is very juicy so with that I don’t need to squeeze any out I can just flick the pen itself and it works.

Thank you so much my lovely friend, I am so glad you enjoy my posts and yes I think GC is the best way to go, but i do like to ask people just incase. I do know what you mean I have won sets before that I have already got or totally not my style and always feel so bad.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my lovely x

Pretty tags!!
