My favorite makes of 2013

Well it certainly has been a year !
I wanted to share some of my favorite creations of 2013 with you, this is something i tend to do every year, it is nice to look back at your work i think.
I made this tag for our Halloween challenge at All Dressed Up and just loved how it turned out, he is still one of my favorite images so far.
I had sooo much fun making this tag, i got to use all my favorite elements and i was so happy with how it turned out, and it was this that i used as my design team submission for Globecraft & Piccolo which i am now part of the team !

I have always been a fan of LOTV, and everyone knows my love of distress style, this stamp is so cute.

This has to be my most messaged about make ever, this is a pick me up book I made using my Cameo, LOTV stamps & Sheena Douglass Stamps, I wanted to create a “me” project to keep little memories for those days when I need a pick me up….and this was it.
I was over the moon to be a guest designer for Peachy Keen Stamps in August and made this Haunted house for one of my posts.

I couldn’t do this list and not feature one of my cards made using one of the fantastic stamps from Visible Image I have created a few cards using their stamps, but this is still my favorite.
This was a design team make for That Craft Place and was the image is from All Dressed Up i don’t often do pink cards, but was really happy with this one.
This is my most recent make for That Craft Place and was probably one of my most enjoyed projects of the year.
Another design team make for That Craft Place i used one of  fab stamps from Lovely lisa for this, and then just made lots of mess with my dylusions by flicking with a paint brush, this is on the list for the sheer amount of fun i had making it.
This is a recent make for Songbird challenges and the image is Bow from Kenny K, I have always loved this image and was really happy with the card as a whole.

So there is my top ten of 2013, I hope you all have a lovely NYE and Happy New year x

New Blog

Sadly my old blog that i had spent years building up has gone to  blog heaven, I was having major problems posting and editing, and each blog post was literally taking hours, this problem apparently could not be fixed  😦
So here I am with my new blog ! I have copied over what blog posts I could, and I hope i have notified all my blogging friends. Thank you for re-following my blog, and hopefully this one will run smoothly 🙂

That Craft Place Anything goes/Christmas.

Morning all, I can’t believe it is Christmas in just a few days !!! This year certainly has flown by !
It is time for our last challenge at That Craft Place, and the theme is Christmas/Anything goes !
Here is my design team make for this challenge….
I decided to make a Mixed Media Canvas for this challenge, I love doing these (I have been asked for a tutorial so will be doing one in the new year), for those of you with a Silhouette you can now get Silhouette Chipboard (Lisa sells it in the Shop) and it is fantastic…It doesn’t handle the delicate designs too well, but on this I created the Honeycomb, the “create” letters, the brackets, Scissors & the flourish. It takes various mediums very well and I have used Distress inks/stains, Gesso & Dylusions on it with no problems at all…so I highly recommend getting some if you are into your chipboard.
All the other Elements on here are all from the lovely Lisa, including the paints & gilding waxes.
I hope you like what I have created, and keep your eyes peeled for the tutorial.
The design team have created some gorgeous makes for this challenge, head on over to the blog to check them out, and why not enter whilst you are there ?

A few christmas cards to share…

Morning everyone, I hope everyone is well and in the festive spirit ?
I wanted to show you a couple of my Christmas cards I have made for family.
I am a long term lover of IndigoBlu, Especially their Flakes, if you have never used these…you really missing out ! I have used these for cards, Altered Items, Homewares & Scrapbooking, they really are a fantastic product…and so much fun to use !
How I have used them for my cards though is how most people use them and is with rubber stamping.
IndigoBlu have a special glue (FlitterGlu) Which is applied with a sponge to your stamp, After you have stamped your image you then apply your flakes, pressing into the image/sentiment, then using your sponge you “rub” off the excess and you are love with a fantastic finished effect.
Anyway let me show you some pictures so you can see…
One thing I like to do is run some FlitterGlu around the edge and add some flakes to create a border.
The below picture shows you just how pretty these flakes are.
There is some great colours in these flakes, the ones I have used above are Winter Dawn, it is mainly silver with golds, Greens & some blues running through it.
Below is another card done in the same way but using Manchester Tart which is Gold & Silver with some beautiful copper tones.

The paper I have used was purchased from That Craft Place and is from Anthentique and is from their Tradition Collection. I then just added some Raffia and mounted onto some deckled edge cards.
I hope you like the cards, and that I have inspired you to give the flakes a go.
Happy Crafting 🙂 x

All Dressed Up Tag

Morning everyone 🙂
I wanted to show you today that digi stamps don’t have to be coloured to be fun.
One of my loves is playing with different mediums, and I LOVE playing with my Dylusions & Mica’s
Here is what i made….
I have used one of the  Wear with style Girls & I have also used the flower section from I love my Puppy along the bottom, I printed & cut using my Silhouette Cameo onto watercolour card.

Then using some Mica powder with water in a mister I sprayed the paper to give it a nice sheen to it, I then misted over the top with Dylusions (Cherry Pie, Funky Fushsia & Vibrant turquoise)

Once it had dried I used a white gel pen to pick out the details & also add some random dots, I then used Distress inks around the edges.

The Sentiment was typed up and cut out and the edges I distressed & then when it was stuck in place i made a rough border using a Gel pen.

The ribbon I used to mop up the ink & mice that was on my craft mat and then left to dry.

I had lots of fun making this tag, and it just goes to show how versatile digi’s can be.
