A Blog Named Hero June Challenge

It’s the first Monday of a new month which means new challenge time over at A Blog Named Hero.

This month we are working with Chibitronics for our theme of Interactive.

This is a fun theme as interactive can mean so much, shakers, light up, spinner cards, pull tab cards….the list is so long.

I LOVE interactive cards, but honestly I am just not very good at them, I try but they just never turn out how I expect…but this is something I am working on hopefully.

For my card I used Hero Arts Color Layer Flamingo stamp set.

I created a sunset style background using my Distress Oxides and the blue piece of card is meant to look like the sea, I took some blue scrap card and added some Broken China to it…didn’t really like how it turned out but I went with it.

I wanted it too look like the sun was setting behind the Flamingo.

Here she is all lit up.

I was actually quite pleased with how this turned out and honestly I was quite worried about using the Chibitronics set but the book that comes with it REALLY explains it so well that it was actually lots of fun to use and I am going to buy a bigger set as I now have tons of ideas.

To add a little something I used Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen to add some sparkle to the “sea” her beak and highlight some of her feathers.

Then to finish off I added some Tonic Jewel drops.

I hope you will join us for this months challenge I can’t wait to see your interactive cards.

Head on over to the A Blog Named Hero Blog  to check out some more of the design teams beautiful cards and also for full supply lists.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have an amazing day.

Happy Crafting

  1. I don’t really do interactive cards, but I do like to make shakers, so can enter after all. Your flamingo card is so fun & the sky is gorgeous!

  2. This is beautiful huni! Love the super cute image and the colours you’ve used are perfect. I also adore that you can light it up – that’s firing ideas for Christmas cards big time too. I’ll try to get myself together enough that I can enter this month too. I hope you are well sweetie, Karen xx
