No your mind is not playing tricks on you. It is Simon Saturday on a Sunday. This post was meant to go live yesterday but I haven’t been very well so it is a day late. I apologise to anyone who stopped by yesterday looking for it. But better late than never !
If you saw my previous post then you would have seen that Simon’s new release- One Of A Kind is now live and they really have created another awesome release.

I was very lucky to receive some products from the release and have been busy creating with them.
One of the items I have seen a few people asking about and wondering what to do with is the 3 Sided Scallop die.
So I wanted to share two cards today that I have created using this die and a couple of other products from the release.
The first card I created was a flap card, this is a flat card where I used the die to cut a flap into the card. I also used the so cute Picture Book Bear die and cut the various elements from some Core’dintations card for some texture and added some Glossy Accents to his eyes and nose.. To cover the front of the flap I cut some patterned paper using the die and adhered directly to the flap.
I wanted the flap to be where the sentiment was and stamped that using some White Ink and used my gold gel pen to add some detailing. This set is from Simon’s Wild Cuddly Critters set and I thought worked perfectly with the bear.
This was a bit of a different card for me but I really like the idea of a flat flap card, this would be great for using as a gift card holder.
For the second card I wanted to show that you can use the die to add a different focal point to your card. I used one of the leaf stamps from the Artsy Fruits Stamp set from this release and stamped it randomly over an A2 notecard using Simon’s Dusty Stage Ink.
One of the things I really like about this die is that it die cuts a scallop border so you can do as I did in my first card and choose to not use it, or as I have done with this card and cut from a different card stock and use it to add a border.
To tie in the gold card I added some gold dots and some gold “shading” to the smile part of the sentiment.
I do hope I have given you some ideas on how to use this die, I know it is a die for me that has given me lots of ideas and is fun to use.
