Simon Saturday – Simon Says Stamp Card Kit **Giveaway**

Hey guys and welcome to another Simon Saturday.

One of the things I get asked about most is Simon Says Stamp Card Kits so I thought that today’s Simon Saturday I would share some info, and a few cards using this months kit.

The card kit a monthly kit which you can subscribe to or buy monthly. The cost for subscribing is $24.95 plus postage and the non subscription price is $29.99 plus postage.

You pay monthly for the kit via subscription and can cancel at any time.

Simon’s kits are very popular and it is very rare that the kit doesn’t sell out, so my advice is to subscribe.

The kits vary from month to month and will always have a theme but in general they tend to contain the following-

Simon Says Stamp card stock.

Patterned paper (this is normally 6×6 and is always of high quality brand)

A Simon Says Stamp Stamp set

Embellishments of some kind- sequins, stickers etc

Some kind of extra…this has included in the past a die, or as is the case this month a ink pad (this month it is a Distress Oxide Ink Pad)

The kit also comes with an inspiration sheet showing designs from some awesome designers.

This months kit is pictured below.

One of the huge plus points about the kit for me is it takes out the guess work, the papers and card stock will always follow a colour theme and often it isn’t always colours I would have thought to put together, yet work so well.

It also is a good chance to “sample” other brands, especially the paper pads. Simon Tends to include a generous amount of patterned paper (it is normally half of a full pad) and I have gone on to purchase the pad after trying it with the kit.

I have been getting the kit for around a year and every single kit has been used and I have not been disappointed. I find that some of the kits put me outside my comfort zone a bit, but for me thats a GOOD thing.

So the main question I get asked is Would I recommend the kit ?

Honestly yes, and I know you might think I am just saying this as a I am on Simon’s Design Team but even before I was, I would recommend this kit to everyone.

It is affordable, gives you good “taster” products and the free lolly always makes Mr Inky smile 🙂

So on to this months kit. This was one of those that pushed me outside of my comfort zone a bit, but I have to say I really enjoyed working with it !

My kit arrived later this month (not due to Simon, due to my local post office) So I haven’t had long to play with it, but I really enjoyed the two cards I made and have TONS of ideas for more.

For my first card I went ultra clean and simple to match the sentiment, I really like the pattern builder type stamps and used my Distress Oxide inks and tried to match the colours to those in the kit.

This card would be great for a masculine card and the colours can be changed to suit.

For the second card when I had this idea pop into my head using Simon’s Heart Parade Die and I am so please it turned out, although I did have a bit of an accident whilst creating this…check out my Instagram for my sparkly story.

Both cards are Clean and Simple even for me, but honestly I really like how they both turned out and I am excited to play around some more with this months kit.

As you guys are so awesome I am giving away a $25 gift card to Simon Says Stamp. A few people have said could I keep the giveaway open a bit longer so I will keep this open until the next Simon Saturday post which will be Saturday 12th August 2017 and the winner will be announced the following day.

All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning is comment below 🙂

  1. I’ve never tried card kits for the reason that they seem intimidating, and this month’s sss kit, for example, would definitely be a bit outside my comfort zone. However, I like what you’ve done with it and it is quite inspiring! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hey Jeanie, I have to admit I was always the same with card kits, but I like Simons as they give bit more to work with if that makes sense.
Thank you for stopping by 😀

  2. They are gorgeous kits Tracy but the one thing that puts me off is patterned paper, I still have so much to use as I don’t use it every card. I do love Simon Says Stamps stamps, stencils and dies though, they are always super quality. Have you gotten all that glitter out yet lovely? I reckon our shower pipes must sparkle at times, lol, what with being inky and glittery too Karen x

    1. Hey lovely thank you. I use paper quite a a bit so it’s fab for me. The other bits in the kit are worthwhile getting it for though, I look at the paper as a bonus item.
Haahaa just about, I was still finding glitter on Sunday ! X

  3. I’ve never purchased a kit not that I didn’t want to but being so far away it would take forever to reach me but I sure would love to see what they are like. Looking at your examples they would be awesome I would imagine….and one can only imagine at the moment.xx

    1. Thanks Annie. I do have to say it tends to only take around a week to get here after being shipped. I will keep an eye out for anyone from Your neck of the woods gets them and how long it takes xxx

  4. Oh what totally delightful cards, Tracy! Love them both, but the first one especially appeals to me! Really love that neat stamp & the colors you used, plus the sentiment treatment is wonderful! Happy Weekend!

  5. I love card kits that include new products like the distress inks & not sample size ones. I love both cards you have made. The heart card is my favortie partly due to the love it shows & partly the giggle you gave of what not to do while embossing before having enough coffee. Thanks for sharing the benefits of card kits.
