Jump Start The Holidays Blog hop with Hero Arts

I am joining in with a fun blog hop today to kick start holiday crafting and also to celebrate Lea Lawson during her month-long Crafty Comeback Party. Lea is an amazing designer, and we are thrilled to support her and see her back crafting!

If you are following the hop list you should have arrived here from the lovely

Swapna Patil

Tune into her blog every day this month – she began the party on October 7, and there have been many beautiful cards and fabulous giveaways along the way!

I had to use one of my all time favourite Hero Arts Holiday Sets for my card for the hop.

I created the background using Missiongold watercolours and just did a wash with some darker splatters and left to dry.

I stamped the cup image using Hero Arts Ombre ink pad onto some Neenah Solar White card and die cut using the co-ordinating die, I also stamped the “foam” and used Hero Arts Black ink for this.

To add some depth I coloured the foam using Prismacolor Pencils.

I stamped one of the sentiments using the same Ombre ink onto some light blue card that I also created the card base from. I adhered everything into place, using some foam tape for the cup and foam to add some dimension.

For the sentiment I took some light blue glitter washi tape and created a fishtail end to match the sentiment and adhered it off centre below the sentiment for interest.

To finish the whole card off I added some sequin confetti.

Make sure you visit every stop on the hop as the prize of a $25 Hero Arts Certificate will be randomly selected from all the comments.

You have until Friday 10th November 11:59PST to leave your comment and the winner will be announced over on Lea’s Blog on Sunday November 12th.

Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful

Libby Hickson

Happy hopping

  1. LOVE this card!! The stamp and die set from Hero Arts is so much fun, and makes creating a great card easy! Your use of beautiful color keeps the cup and its fun sentiments the focus!! Great design!

  2. I think to use the ombre pads for sentiments, but I forget I can use them for solid stamps too, and this reverse solid stamp is perfect for it!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
