Simon Says Stamp Sending Sunshine | New Release

Hey lovelies, it is that time of the month again…new Simon Says Stamp Release !!

Firstly I wanted to say sorry for no Simon Saturday last weekend I have been really sick, but there will be one this Saturday showcasing some more of the new release products 🙂

Sending Sunshine Exclusive Release

This months release is another great one and the general theme of the release is season based and I LOVE it.

I was very lucky in that Simon sent me a bunch of products from the new release and today I wanted to share two cards I created using a must have (in my opinion) die and stamp set.

The release has some great “wreath” style dies which I find are VERY versatile, I will be creating some cards with the other dies i received but today wanted to focus on my favourite die from the release and my favourite stamp set (although have you seen the cutie Hello There critter stamp set, that is going into my basket ASAP !! )

It’s no secret I adore autumn, to me its perfect weather and I love all the rich colours of nature at that time of year. So as soon as I saw the Leafy Circle Die I knew I had to go with an autumn theme. Now of course this die could be used all year round, I’d love to see some Christmas cards made using it, but that’s what I love so much about this sort of die is that it really can be used any time of year.

Anyway on to my first card. I recently purchased some of the Simon Glitter card stock in autumnal colours and used that on both my cards.

The sentiment is from the new Four Seasons Sayings stamp set and it has some great stamps, including a couple of these quote stamps, which are a great size for cards like this. For this card I did a bunch of die cutting with the die and Simon’s glitter card to get a nice mix of the leafs as I wanted to use them on both cards.

I cut down some Neenah card to just under A2 size and then die cut the circle out. I stamped the sentiment using Simon’s Chocolate Dye ink and then I run some craft foam through my Xyron machine to add some adhesive to the whole sheet of foam which i then adhered to the back of the stamped and die cut piece, this gave me a nice sticky area for inlaid die cutting.

I randomly arranged the leafs pushing them down once I was happy and then adhered the whole panel to a top folding A2 card base.

For my second card I did similar but wanted to create a one layer card so i used the die cut panel as a template.

I used Multi Medium Matte adhesive to adhere these leafs onto a A2 top folding Kraft notecard. Once i was happy i removed the template and added the heat embossed sentiment which is from the Four Seasons Sayings stamp set.

I really like the slight dimension this card has and also the colours again the kraft card are beautiful.

So what do you think of the new release ? Have you gone shopping yet ?

I have linked to the whole release below including all the products I have used for both these cards.

There will be a blog post this Thursday & Friday over on the Simon Says Stamps Blog so make sure you check that out.

  2. Sending hugs and positive energy that you’ll be feeling 110% better very soon! I’ve been away from my craft room for 15 days! EEK! Hope I remember how to make cards…guess I’ll find out later today. You’ve created two lovely cards to showcase the new wreath/sentiment sets! Such a pretty autumn palette! I see what you mean about the wreath being versatile…a simple change of colours and all seasons are covered! Clever folks, those Simon designers!
