The Daily Marker 30 Day| Arteza Brush Pen Review

Hey lovelies, I hope you are having a great week ?

Those who follow me on Social Media know that hubby recently purchased me some of the Arteza Brush Pens & a few people said about a review and this month being The Daily Marker 30 day challenge I thought it seemed like a perfect time to do one.

Before I get onto the review Studio Katia is today hopping for the The Daily Marker and the Design Team have created some amazing cards so make sure you head on over to the Studio Katia Blog for all the hop details.

I will share my card I created for the hop at the end of this post. If you don’t know what the Daily Marker Challenge is then you can check it out here. But what it basically is that the lovely Kathy challenges you to color something everyday for 30 days, even if it is just for 2 mins to just take some time out and relax and color. It is a great challenge and you DON’T have to take part everyday so make sure you check it out.

Grab a cuppa and settle down for the review.

From My Hut to yours….

Hey lovelies…phew it is a HOT one here today !!! The furbabies are all laid out in front of the fans, and I am tempted to join them….I really do not do well with the heat and it is a running joke that I should live in the North Pole because I love the cold weather, I know I am weird.
Anyway onto today’s card.
I have used a stamp set today that the second I saw it I just had to buy it. It is by My Favorite Things and is called Tiki Party and I thought it looked like such a fun stamp set.

It has so many fun little elements. It also has a co-ordinating die set, which I don’t have yet but I do plan to get.
I knew I wanted to create a totem pole kinda theme with the two wooden mask/men and I used a tutorial over on the Spectrum Noir blog for colouring wood, The tutorial can be found here.
I wanted some dimension and to create a little scene type card so I die cut some green cardstock using large stitched rectangle die (all supplies are listed and linked below) and then die cut a large oval aperture in the centre.
I then took some Hero Arts Lime Green Shadow ink and stamped the large leaf all over the green card to give a tone on tone look. I used the Hang Loose Sentiment on the front of the card and heat embossed it using some fine detail white embossing powder.
For the background of the card I took some sky blue cardstock and adhered that to a A2 cardbase.
I added some cloud diecuts which I cut from Vellum and Neenah Solar White.
The Grass was also diecut and I lifted the “blades” slightly for more dimension.
I then adhered the green panel using some foam adhesive.
For the Totem I cut the body area off the the top “totem” and then  coloured him using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I left the lower “totem” whole and coloured him in the same way. I then adhered them both using some foam tape.
For the inside of the card I used a circle Mask and stamped the same leaf pattern but this time I second, sometimes third generation stamped them to give them a slightly lighter look.I then took the hut and one of the palm trees and stamped them in the lower corner with Simon Says Stamp Cobblestone Inkpad and coloured them using my Spectrum Noir Markers.
I was going to leave the center area blank for a hand written message, but to be honest I just couldn’t resist this sentiment so to finish the card off I stamped that using Simon Says Stamp Fern Green Ink pad.
I had SO much fun with this stamp set, so it is definitely one I’d recommend if you don’t already have it.
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting
I am going to be entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Make a Scene

30 Day Coloring Challenge- Simon Says Stamp & Spectrum Noir

Hiya lovelies, it feels like I have not blogged in ages !
We are having some work done on the house so crafting has taken a back seat for a little while. We still have some stuff to do….including setting up my new craft desk, but we are getting back to some sort of normal…well as normal as we get here !
I do hope you are all well 🙂 thanks for sticking with me !
It is time for the brilliant 30 Day Coloring Challenge again.
For those that don’t know, the challenge is something the wonderful Kathy over at The Daily Marker
created.
The aim is to color something everyday, no matter how small…it can be for 5 mins, but just take a little bit of relaxing timeout with whatever colouring medium you choose.
There is giveways throughout the challenge, plus it is a great way to interact with other crafters and in general it is really fun.
For a full run down on it then click the image below and it will take you to the challenge question page.

I wanted to create a card using some Simon Says Stamp goodies (full list and links are below)
I decided to create a summery card, I also wanted  the image to be the main focal point.
I created a simple background using some distress inks and added some water splashes.
I then took some Island Blue cardstock along with the co-ordinating ink and stamped some of the accent stamps across it, picking out some details with a white gel pen.

I coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir markers, but i will be honest i really didn’t like how i coloured the rubber ring, so i decided to add some white banding to it, and i am really glad i did.

I didn’t want a black sentiment so decided to stamp it in Simon Says Stamp Cobblestone ink, which is a warm greyish colour and is a great alternative to black, I also used the white gel pen to make this pop a bit.
I mounted both the image and background with some foam to give some dimension and then adhered it all together to create the card.
I hope you like the card and have an amazing day and will join in with the challenge.
