Hey lovelies…phew it is a HOT one here today !!! The furbabies are all laid out in front of the fans, and I am tempted to join them….I really do not do well with the heat and it is a running joke that I should live in the North Pole because I love the cold weather, I know I am weird.
Anyway onto today’s card.
I have used a stamp set today that the second I saw it I just had to buy it. It is by My Favorite Things and is called Tiki Party and I thought it looked like such a fun stamp set.
It has so many fun little elements. It also has a co-ordinating die set, which I don’t have yet but I do plan to get.
I knew I wanted to create a totem pole kinda theme with the two wooden mask/men and I used a tutorial over on the Spectrum Noir blog for colouring wood, The tutorial can be found here
I wanted some dimension and to create a little scene type card so I die cut some green cardstock using large stitched rectangle die (all supplies are listed and linked below) and then die cut a large oval aperture in the centre.
I then took some Hero Arts Lime Green Shadow ink and stamped the large leaf all over the green card to give a tone on tone look. I used the Hang Loose Sentiment on the front of the card and heat embossed it using some fine detail white embossing powder.
For the background of the card I took some sky blue cardstock and adhered that to a A2 cardbase.
I added some cloud diecuts which I cut from Vellum and Neenah Solar White.
The Grass was also diecut and I lifted the “blades” slightly for more dimension.
I then adhered the green panel using some foam adhesive.
For the Totem I cut the body area off the the top “totem” and then coloured him using my Spectrum Noir Markers. I left the lower “totem” whole and coloured him in the same way. I then adhered them both using some foam tape.
For the inside of the card I used a circle Mask and stamped the same leaf pattern but this time I second, sometimes third generation stamped them to give them a slightly lighter look.I then took the hut and one of the palm trees and stamped them in the lower corner with Simon Says Stamp Cobblestone Inkpad and coloured them using my Spectrum Noir Markers.
I was going to leave the center area blank for a hand written message, but to be honest I just couldn’t resist this sentiment so to finish the card off I stamped that using Simon Says Stamp Fern Green Ink pad.
I had SO much fun with this stamp set, so it is definitely one I’d recommend if you don’t already have it.
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting
