Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Gift It

Hey lovelies, I hope you are well 🙂

It is Wednesday which means it is time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

It is time for a new challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

This week the challenge is
Gift It

This week we are showcasing
Mama Elephant You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I decided to create some gift wrap and matching gift tag using the Twinkle Towns Die set.

I created a stamp using the Oh Jo die and stamped over some kraft gift wrap in Simon’s Clear Ink and then heat embossed using Simon’s Fine Detail gold powder.
I then die cut the bauble from Kraft card & Vellum and die cut the sentiment which I then heat embossed.
I also added some embossing powder to the top of the vellum piece and punched a hole for the twine.
This was really fun to do and a great way to stretch your supplies.

So now it’s YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

A little Snail Mail

Hey all, I hope you are all well ?
I’m sharing a card today featuring stamps from Sunny Studio Stamps, If you have never heard of them then make sure you head on over to their website and check them out. They are cutesy stamps, but slightly different and I LOVE their style they produce some awesome stamp sets, they also do some fab dies too so make sure you check the out.

I have used their Backyard Bugs set which I will confess I purchased as soon as I saw the snail in the set.
Sometimes something just needs googly eyes and this guy for me was crying out for them.
I created the main background by stamping onto some Simon Says Stamp card stock (all links are below) in Simon Says Stamp Fern ink with some of the smaller stamps in this set, I then coloured them and went over them my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen and die cut along the edges using  Lawn Fawns Stitched border die.
I coloured the images using the following Spectrum Noir Markers-
And fussy cut them out.
I applied some glossy accents to the toadstools spots and windows, and whilst I waited for that to dry I created the background.
I took some Neenah and using Twisted Citron & Tumbled Glass Distress inks and blended them to create a simple Grass-sky background.

The cloud is from the Mama Elephant Landscape trio set and I die cut some Neenah and stamped the “A little snail mail” sentiment along with two of the heart stamps using Simon Says Stamp Cobblestone ink….I did originally try this with vellum and embossing powder, but for this card it just didn’t look right to me.
I adhered the cloud to the background and then decided to using some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle over it…confession time, I squeezed the pen when I really shouldn’t have and ended up with a big drop on my distress ink background, I REALLY didn’t want to do the background again so I just flicked the pen across the background to give a sparkle splatter look…I am really not sure I like it, but I just went with it.
I then die cut the Stitched Square frame from Neenah and using some foam tape I adhered it to the inked square.
I then adhered the rest of the elements to the card, I decided to put the snail on the edge of the square and used some foam tape on him. I then adhered those googly eyes along with enamel dots and the card was done.

This card was a total non planned go with the flow type card, and I smile every time I look at it because that snail is just so much fun !
The toadstool house was brilliant to colour and you can see in the picture above the dimension from the Glossy Accents.
I have sent this card to a friend in the states and I hope it makes her smile.

Thank you all for stopping by my blog today.
I hope you all have an amazing day

Fathers day & Creating textured fur

Hiya lovelies, I hope you are all well ?
As it is Fathers day this weekend I wanted to share a fun card that can be sent for Fathers day, but can also be sent for birthdays etc and the technique can be used on any card.
The card I have created is from a lovely set from Hero Arts Called Lil Hoot (as always full supply list with direct links is below). I have used a tutorial from one of my Spectrum Noir Teamies which can be found here
How cute is this stamp ? the textured fur is so easy to create to.
I have taken the technique one step further and in my video below I show you how you can add even more texture if you wish, both techniques can be used together, or separately depending on the result you want.
I hope you enjoyed the video, don’t forget to subscribe to my channel to be kept up to date with all the new videos…I will be posting videos a lot more regularly soon so let me know if there is anything you would like to see a video about 🙂
Before I go i just wanted to let people know that this week my Facebook was hacked and I lost my account, including my Facebook page ! So if i have gone from your friends list that is why. I do have another account and page which the link to can be found on my sidebar.
I hope you all have a great day.

Happy Birthday to you !

Hiya ! I hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend ?
Our weekend was great, lots of family time, and crafting.

The card I am sharing today is one that made for someone very special birthday.

I used my favorite layering stamp set from Hero Arts (full supplies list below along with links) and stamped up just one corned of the card as I want the main focus to be on the sentiment.
This sentiment is brilliant….you know when you have a stamp set you want to keep all lovely and new, well this one from Mama Elephant is one of those sets for me, it is a sentiment set and i love the large scripty sentiments in it.
The paper is from Lawn Fawn and is from the Perfectly Plaid 6×6 pad and i thought it matched the colours of the flowers, I wanted the paper to just be on the one side so the Wavy Scallope die from Simon Says Stamp seemed like the perfect die for that.
I then finished the card off by adding some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle to the flowers and some sequins to the card and it was done.
Sister liked it so I am really happy about that.
Thank you for stopping by today.
I hope you have a great day, and happy crafting

The darkest nights produce the brightest stars…

Hiya lovelies, I hope you are all well and had a nice weekend ? We had a lazy weekend, and Sunday we had a Pj day which was lovely.
I wanted to share my latest card with you.
Now confession time…I am a Mama Elephant hoarder, I hold my hands up I have quite a few of their stamp sets that I have never used, not because i don’t like them…I LOVE them, so much so I don’t want to dirty them..haahaa crazy aren’t I ?
But that being said this year I am making it my mission to use them all, they are lovely stamps and deserve to be used, not just sat and looked at.
The set I used to make this card is a special set to me for a few personal reason’s and I loved using it.
Anyway here it is….
I knew i had to create a watercolour background for this so I used my Spectrum Aqua Pens to create it and then I added some Distress Ink around the edge to darken it up slightly.
I then did the water flick and blotted off with some tissue.
I have stamped this little cutie using Memento Ink in London Fog so it give a kinda no lines look. I then coloured her up using my Spectrum Noir Markers.
I then used a black gel pen to darken her, and her teddies eyes and nose and added some white dots to her hair bow and bag.
I have used an oval die to create the shape she is sitting on, I wanted it too look moonish ? so used some Distress Ink and again flicked some water over it.
I have used some foam tape to give her some dimension.
I really struggled too get a good picture to show the different tones in the background, and this was about best i could get…my hubs ended up having to use his i-phone.
I love this sentiment so much and is such a personal one for me. I heat embossed it and then the final thing I did was using some clear star sequins…I told you I cannot go a card without using sequins of some kind.
I hope you like the card, I have to admit this is one I really loved creating.
Have a great day and happy crafting

It takes time

Hello lovelies. I hope you are well ? Phew i nearly didnt make it on to blog today ! My cat Lily decided that she wanted some Mummy time and she was going to get it by laying on the desk and keyboard so i couldn’t get anything done.
How can I work with Lily being all cute on my desk ?! #cat #lilycat #nocraftingforme #toocute #furbaby
And who could resist her ! I know i never can. Anyway she is now off having a drink so I thought i’d jump on here quickly and blog before she comes back.
I wanted to share a card I made that used a technique from a tutorial on the Spectrum Noir Blog which is Adding depth using a Black Pencil By the Lovely Nicky. The tutorial can be found here
I have slightly mixed it up because I have used it around the edge of my stamped images rather than how Nicky has done on the tutorial.
I love this stamp set (link is at the bottom of this post) and wanted to use my Spectrum Noir Colourblend Pencils but really mix the colours up and make them nice and bright. I also wanted it too look like they was almost falling…hope that makes sense, i know it does in my head but that means nothing haha.
The sentiment is from a different stamp set along with the small flowers, but both worked so perfectly with this stamp for this card.
I really wanted it too be a flat card so it was easy to mail and also that the flowers were the main thing on the card.
I CANNOT resist these Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens, i am telling you I get Sparkle withdrawal if I don’t use them ! But here i only wanted a very small amount of sparkle so I just lightly brushed over using the clear sparkle. On this picture you can also see where I have used the Black pencils and blended it out to give some depth to the card.
I wasn’t going to mount the card but decided it needed something, black looked too much so i settled for Kraft card.
I really enjoyed this, it isn’t a WOW card but i find sometimes the simple ones are more fun.
I hope you like the card, dont forget to check out Nicky’s Tutorial
Have a great day.
