Spectrum Noir November Challenge

Hey lovelies, I hope you are all having a great week 🙂
Today I wanted to share with you my cards for this months Spectrum Noir challenge.
In case you hadn’t seen we have changed the challenge up a bit and the theme is always Anything Goes, but in order to win a Spectrum Noir prize package you need to follow the optional theme, which this month is Christmas.
I made not one card, but 3 for the challenge…well they are all similar just some different colours 🙂
I couldn’t resist this set when Clearly Besotted released it and have used it on most of my cards for close friends and family, I really do love him and so much fun to colour.
I used my Spectrum Noir Colourblend Pencils to colour all 3 and my IG1 & IG2 markers to draw a snowy ground (show up better in real life).
I coloured each image the same other than their saddles and scarfs and then I matched the trims down the side of the card to that colour.
I added some glitter detailing using my Quicky Glue pen and Elizabeth Crafts Diamond Glitter to this one, but I dont like the purple tone it gave so I would miss that out in future, for the others I used my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen which looks better.
For the sentiments I used the Basic Banner 3 set and matching die and stamped using Ranger dye ink.
For the background I used a snow stamp from last months Hero Arts kit with some silver pigment ink to give some shimmer, really like how this turned out.
The paper I used is sadly not in stock anywhere ( I am guessing it has been discontinued), it is Lawn Fawn 12 x 12 Peace Joy Love.
I resisted adding any sequins etc to these as I thought they didn’t really need it.
I hope you all like the cards, I really do highly recommend the set to everyone.
Don’t forget to check out the challenge
Have a lovely weekend and happy crafting

Simon Says Stamp – You are loved

Hey lovelies, I hope you are all well ?
A huge thank you for all the comments on my last post & video…You guys rock !
I wanted to share with you a card I made today using a fab stamp set & die from Simon Says Stamp
called You.
Simon Says Stamp YOU Craft Die S146 Preview Image
They are sold separately but as you can see they work perfectly together.
As always I have linked below all products used.
I also wanted to give my new Clarity Stencil Brushes a whirl.
If you haven’t tried these then you HAVE too !! they give AMAZING ink blending which is soft (you can easily build it up) and no marks like the ink blending tools leave sometimes…don’t get me wrong I still love my ink blending tools but these brushes will make things SO much easier, they are slightly expensive but definitively worth it.
Anyway onto the card.
I used the stamp set and arranged it onto my misti to create a background stamp effect onto some Neenah card, and then heat embossed using Simon’s White Fine Detail Embossing powder.
This is another way to get more out of your sentiment sets and can be done in so many different ways.
I then used Clarity Stencil Brushes to swirl over Simon’s Dye Ink in the following colour’s-
Island Blue
Coral Reef
I die cut the panel out using a stitched rectangle die from MFT Blueprints 29 set.
I then used the You die to die cut some Neenah 3 times and then heat embossed one  twice using Fine detail gold embossing powder. I then adhered this on top of the two other dies to give it some dimension.
For the sentiment “are loved” I heat embossed it using the same white detail embossing powder onto some Kraft card and trimmed it to fit against the die cut.
I felt it still needed something, so I die cut a circle of vellum and trimmed the edge and adhered it to the panel with the sentiment die and strip on top.
I used an A2 top folding card base to adhere this all too and finished the whole thing off with a gold heart from Pretty Pink Posh.
This card would be perfect to send to so many different people, and I love how different the inks look when used with the brushes.
I hope I have inspired you to try something slightly different with your sentiment sets.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have an amazing day !

Festive Card Series- Layering Wreath Stamp

Hey lovelies, Hope you are all well and having a lovely week ?
It is time for the next Festive Card Series Installment.
I have created 3 cards using a layering wreath set from Clearly Besotted, as I type this the set is still avalible at Simon Says Stamp (linked below) but if you want it grab it as Clearly Besotted have closed their doors until next year so stock is limited !
These cards will actually be the main cards I send as they quick to create, easy to mail and yet look pretty.

I love the sparkle you can add with the spray from Crafter’s Companion, what I was trying to show in the video is that is like a varnish style spray and the glitter doesn’t shed !
I love the detail on the little pinecones in this set too, so sweet !
It can also be used as a non holiday wreath.
The other good thing about this is non crafters can help create them…yep I am roping hubby in to make the rest of these with me so we can get a little production line going !
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have an amazing day

World Card Making Day- Thank you Cards with Hero Arts

Hiya lovelies, Happy World Card Making Day !!
I am sure most of you will be crafting today…don’t forget to check out crafting stores as I know last year lots had some great bargains on World Card Making Day.
I wanted to create some quick and easy thank you cards so that I had some on hand all ready to go and the Spring Hello Stamp set from Hero Arts is the perfect set to use.

As  you can see it is a great little set, I love the little bird and chip monk and think I will do a wreath style card next with it.
I used the Thank You sentiment and one of the flowers and leaf stamps along with Hero Arts Shadow Inks. The background I created using Simon Says Stamp Background stamp.
If you want to see how I created the cards then check out the video
I hope you enjoyed the video.
One of the reasons I wanted to make Thank you cards was to say a huge thank you to all of you !
Everyone who has susbscribed to my blog, my Youtube Channel, those who like and comment, you are all so brilliant and I LOVE that I have so many amazing crafty friends. So THANK YOU !
Just to show the cards a bit better.
What one do you like best ? I really like the Mint Julep one, but I am a total sucker for Butter Bar so it is a hard choice.
I am really pleased with how these turned out and I think I might make some more and put them in some pretty boxes for holiday gifts, or just send them to some friends.
Thank you guys for stopping by today. I hope you have an amazing day and a great weekend.
Happy Crafting !

30 Day Coloring Challenge- Simon Says Stamp & Spectrum Noir

Hiya lovelies, it feels like I have not blogged in ages !
We are having some work done on the house so crafting has taken a back seat for a little while. We still have some stuff to do….including setting up my new craft desk, but we are getting back to some sort of normal…well as normal as we get here !
I do hope you are all well 🙂 thanks for sticking with me !
It is time for the brilliant 30 Day Coloring Challenge again.
For those that don’t know, the challenge is something the wonderful Kathy over at The Daily Marker
The aim is to color something everyday, no matter how small…it can be for 5 mins, but just take a little bit of relaxing timeout with whatever colouring medium you choose.
There is giveways throughout the challenge, plus it is a great way to interact with other crafters and in general it is really fun.
For a full run down on it then click the image below and it will take you to the challenge question page.

I wanted to create a card using some Simon Says Stamp goodies (full list and links are below)
I decided to create a summery card, I also wanted  the image to be the main focal point.
I created a simple background using some distress inks and added some water splashes.
I then took some Island Blue cardstock along with the co-ordinating ink and stamped some of the accent stamps across it, picking out some details with a white gel pen.

I coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir markers, but i will be honest i really didn’t like how i coloured the rubber ring, so i decided to add some white banding to it, and i am really glad i did.

I didn’t want a black sentiment so decided to stamp it in Simon Says Stamp Cobblestone ink, which is a warm greyish colour and is a great alternative to black, I also used the white gel pen to make this pop a bit.
I mounted both the image and background with some foam to give some dimension and then adhered it all together to create the card.
I hope you like the card and have an amazing day and will join in with the challenge.
