Some quick and easy cards for all occasions with Simon Says Stamp & Spectrum Aqua.

So you may remember that in my last blog post I mentioned finding a pile of cards I had made over the Christmas period that I had totally forgotten about…well today I decided to blog some of them.
One of the main things I want to start doing a lot more of is sending cards just for the sake of it, or to just make someone smile, so I wanted to start making a stockpile of the cards so I have them ready to go.
And that is where these cards came in, they was easy to create and perfect for any occasion.
I created the cards using my Spectrum Aqua Markers onto some Strathmore card stock and then added the beautiful Cottage Stems Die from Simon Says Stamp.
For this card I used Spectrum Aqua markers- Aquamarine & Purple
This one I tried to go for a lot softer look and used Peach & Blossom Aqua Markers and also added some flicks of colour.
This one I thought the colours went well with the sentiment and used Sunflower & Amber markers.
And for the final one I used Seq Green & Magenta Aqua Markers…I think this one is my favorite.
For all the cards I adhered two of the die cuts together to give them some dimension.
They are all A2 sized so it shows what a lovely size die the Cottage Stem die is.
For the sentiments I used Pink Fresh Studio Felicity Sticker phrases. I don’t often use stickers, don’t get me wrong I own lots but can never bring myself to use them !…I know I am a total weirdo.
These just seemed so perfect for the cards and I loved the sentiments and fitted perfectly at the base of the die.
I die cut the panel using Stitched rectangle from MFT Blueprints 29.
I adhered some fun foam to the back of the panel as it was pretty warped from the water.
I finished each card off with some sequins.
And there you go some whatever the occasion cards all ready to go.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and also I have to say a huge thank you for all the emails, cards and messages about my health you guys don’t know how much it all means. THANK YOU so so much.
I do have some other cards from the pile I will be blogging soon.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Spectrum Noir tutorial Using Concord & 9th

Hey lovelies, I do hope you all have a nice weekend ?
It was cold and wet here, but as many of you know I love the winter so for me I pulled on my fluffy pj’s and socks and crafted for most of it.
I have a tutorial on the Spectrum Noir Blog about how I use refill inks to custom shaker material.
The tutorial can be found here and is a quick and easy method and one that’s good for when you need a specific colour…if you are anything like me the colour I need seems to always be the one I don’t have !
The card I created Is a Clean and Simple Christmas card using products from Concord & 9th.
I LOVE this Joy die, I really adore scripty font dies, but sometimes it is nice to have a nice block font. I have also used Stripe Builder Set from Concord & 9th which I stamped before die cutting.
I used my Fuse tool for the shaker pockets as I wanted this card to be fairly flat and also as the letters are quite close together I knew foam tape would be a nightmare to try and separate the different letter areas.  I finished the card off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins & some gems.
I do hope you will head on over and check the tutorial out.
Thank you for stopping by.
Have an amazing day & happy crafting

Simon Says Stamp – You are loved

Hey lovelies, I hope you are all well ?
A huge thank you for all the comments on my last post & video…You guys rock !
I wanted to share with you a card I made today using a fab stamp set & die from Simon Says Stamp
called You.
Simon Says Stamp YOU Craft Die S146 Preview Image
They are sold separately but as you can see they work perfectly together.
As always I have linked below all products used.
I also wanted to give my new Clarity Stencil Brushes a whirl.
If you haven’t tried these then you HAVE too !! they give AMAZING ink blending which is soft (you can easily build it up) and no marks like the ink blending tools leave sometimes…don’t get me wrong I still love my ink blending tools but these brushes will make things SO much easier, they are slightly expensive but definitively worth it.
Anyway onto the card.
I used the stamp set and arranged it onto my misti to create a background stamp effect onto some Neenah card, and then heat embossed using Simon’s White Fine Detail Embossing powder.
This is another way to get more out of your sentiment sets and can be done in so many different ways.
I then used Clarity Stencil Brushes to swirl over Simon’s Dye Ink in the following colour’s-
Island Blue
Coral Reef
I die cut the panel out using a stitched rectangle die from MFT Blueprints 29 set.
I then used the You die to die cut some Neenah 3 times and then heat embossed one  twice using Fine detail gold embossing powder. I then adhered this on top of the two other dies to give it some dimension.
For the sentiment “are loved” I heat embossed it using the same white detail embossing powder onto some Kraft card and trimmed it to fit against the die cut.
I felt it still needed something, so I die cut a circle of vellum and trimmed the edge and adhered it to the panel with the sentiment die and strip on top.
I used an A2 top folding card base to adhere this all too and finished the whole thing off with a gold heart from Pretty Pink Posh.
This card would be perfect to send to so many different people, and I love how different the inks look when used with the brushes.
I hope I have inspired you to try something slightly different with your sentiment sets.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have an amazing day !

Simon Says Stamp & Mission Gold

I cannot believe it is Friday already ! I had to double check the calendar this morning as this week seems to have flown by.
The good thing though is that I am having a total crafting day & weekend.
For the card I am sharing today I have used a love themed stamp from Simon Says Stamp called Roses for you.
Simon Says Clear Stamps ROSES FOR YOU sss101582 zoom image
It is a beautiful set, but since it popped through my door I have been looking at the heart cluster of roses thinking it could be used as background stamp with a little careful placement.
So this morning I cracked out my Mission Gold watercolours and decided to give it ago.
Now it did take some working out, and I was left with some small open areas but I used the individual roses & leaves to fill them in.
I was really happy with how it turned out, and it gives another way to use this lovely set.
I heat embossed the images onto some Strathmore Watercolour cardstock using Simons fine detail embossing powder.
I then did a very very light pink wash over the whole piece and allowed to dry, once it was dry I then did some loose watercolouring.
I was going to leave the leaves, but decided to water down one of the greens and use that and I am glad I did because it has broken up the pink.
For the sentiment I die cut Simon Says Stamp painted Friend die several times out of Neenah and then once out of the silver card I had in my stash.
The happy Birthday sentiment is from another Simon set and I heat embossed that and trimmed it to fit against the friend die.
To finish off I die cut the panel using Blueprints 29 and mat and layered onto the same pink card I used for the sentiment.
I then added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and Nuvo Crystal Drops…these are new to me and so far I am liking them !
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you all have an amazing day and a great weekend.
Happy Crafting
I’d like to enter this into the Wednesday challenge over at Simon Says Stamp, the theme is Think Pink

Spectrum Noir October challenge- Halloween Colours

Hey lovelies, I hope you are all having a great week ?
New challenge is currently on over at Spectrum Noir and the theme is Halloween colours…Now this doesn’t have to be a Halloween card, you can just use any of the colours associated with Halloween- Orange, Black, Green, Red, Purple etc.
There has also been a change to the Challenge rules. If you want to be in with a chance of winning the £30/$30 prize and card of the month you need to follow the theme, but if you want to enter a non themed card (anything goes) you can BUT you will NOT be allowed to win the £30/$30 prize, however you could still be picked as card of the month. All you need to do is use Spectrum Noir Product on your creation.
If you want to enter the challenge and check out all my amazing teamies creations then click the graphic below.
For my card for the challenge I used a cute Halloween set from Clearly Besotted called Best Halloween (all products are listed and linked below)
I used Spectrum Aqua Markers to Create the background along with gold Spectrum Sparkle Pen.
The colours I used are:
Orange, sunset, Black, Bud Green & Purple.
Then for the little balloons I used Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils in the following colours-
Black, Seal Grey, Nectarine, Pumpkin & Mustard.
I then cut them out and added a layer of Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen and a layer of Glossy Accents.
The Sentiment I stamped using Versafine and then clear sparkle embossing powder.
And of course I HAD to use sequins to finish the card off 🙂
I loved creating this card, so much fun !
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you all have a great day.

Creating a galaxy effect with Spectrum Noir Aquatints

Hey ! I hope you are all well ?
No video today ! but I wanted to share with you a couple of cards that I made for a tutorial over on the Spectrum Noir Blog.
All things sky and galaxy are bang on trend at the moment, and I LOVE it. I am a huge night time person and could speak hours watching the night time sky…I know I am strange.
I have seen a few people saying how they love the galaxy effect but its hard to do….and it really isn’t!!
Back in the day ( I sound old!) I used to paint….not well, but it was my crafting back then and one of things I could paint over and over was night skies & Galaxies. So if I can do it, then anyone can and I encourage you all to try it.
I created the below cards using Spectrum Noir Aquatints, but a lot of mediums work well, especially waterbased ones such as water colour paints.
I did two different effects with these, the bottom one was using just one layer of colour and one layer of black, the top one was done using two layers of colour and one layer of black.
Once this one was dry I used Simon Says Stamp Falling Stars die (all links and supplies are listed below) to die cut the main panel and then adhered that too some Silver Glitter card. I then heat embossed the sentiment in Silver onto some black cardstock and using foam tape I added this to the card. I then added some Silver Sequins Stars from Pretty Pink Posh.
This one I tried something totally different and it was a NIGHTMARE to photograph. I used white embossing powder on the main panel to emboss the sentiment and then using silver embossing powder I heat embossed the same sentiment onto a strip of Vellum, I then adhered it so that it was slightly higher and gave a 3Dish look, I LOVE how it turned out in RL, it is just one of those effeects that gets lost a bit when you photo it ! I then just added some of the die cut stars from the other card, and a couple of the Stars from Pretty Pink Posh.
I was going to go with black card bases, but decided on white to make it pop that little bit more.
If you want to check out how I made these and the Aquatint Colours I used then head on over to the blog to check out the tutorial which can be found here
Thank you so much for stopping by today.
I hope you have an amazing day.
