Spectrum Noir tutorial Using Concord & 9th

Hey lovelies, I do hope you all have a nice weekend ?
It was cold and wet here, but as many of you know I love the winter so for me I pulled on my fluffy pj’s and socks and crafted for most of it.
I have a tutorial on the Spectrum Noir Blog about how I use refill inks to custom shaker material.
The tutorial can be found here and is a quick and easy method and one that’s good for when you need a specific colour…if you are anything like me the colour I need seems to always be the one I don’t have !
The card I created Is a Clean and Simple Christmas card using products from Concord & 9th.
I LOVE this Joy die, I really adore scripty font dies, but sometimes it is nice to have a nice block font. I have also used Stripe Builder Set from Concord & 9th which I stamped before die cutting.
I used my Fuse tool for the shaker pockets as I wanted this card to be fairly flat and also as the letters are quite close together I knew foam tape would be a nightmare to try and separate the different letter areas.  I finished the card off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins & some gems.
I do hope you will head on over and check the tutorial out.
Thank you for stopping by.
Have an amazing day & happy crafting

Festive Card Series #3 Mini Vellum shaker Cards

Hey lovelies, I hope you are all having a great day ?
Today I am sharing the next part of my Festive Card Series 2016.
If you have missed my other parts of the Festive Series you can find them by clicking on the links below:
For today’s post & video I wanted to share some mini vellum shaker cards I created using a die….now this die is super old and was gifted to me, I *believe* it is by MFT, but cannot find it anywhere ! So if anyone can help me out that would be great. I have listed below a VERY similar die that can be used in the same way though 🙂
I have wanted to use vellum on these as I love that it “tones” down the shaker material and I think it works perfectly for Festive cards. They measure at just over 3″ so perfect for sending through the mail, and for creating in bulk.
Here is the video showing how I created them.
I hope you enjoyed the video.

I love how the clear embossing has worked on the snowflakes stamps by Winnie & Walter, and it just gives that little bit of extra something.
This shows not only how fantastic the Hero Arts Ombre Ink looks but also the shaker material, and what I was saying about it toning it down.
I hope you enjoyed the video and seeing how I created the cards, if you wanted to create something even more mail friendly you could create a “flat” shaker using a Fuse Tool or just some super strong tape.
I highly encourage you too play around as shaker cards can be so much fun.
I hope you have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by my blog today.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Anything Goes

Hey guys, I cannot believe it is Wednesday again already ! I hope you have had a great week.
It’s time for another challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.
The theme this week is Anything Goes and the team have been working with Spellbinders products, you don’t have to use them to enter but we would love to see what you can create with them.
The winner of the challenge will win a $50 voucher to spend at the store !
Before I get onto my card I am really sad that this will be my last week as Guest Designer, it been amazing to be part of the team for a month, and also for that month to be STAMPtember made it even better, I really have loved every minute of it and cannot thank everyone for having me.
For my card I have used the Hipster 1 die set from Spellbinders, I am a HUGE coffee nut so it just had to be this set for me as it contains a fab coffee cup in the Starbucks style, it even comes complete with a little die so you can create the wraps that put round them !
This was another total non planned and just sat down and see what happened card….seem to do them a lot lately. I decided to create a shaker using the die cut cups.
The sentiment is just perfect and is from the Choose Happy Stamp set by Simon Says Stamp (all supplies are listed and linked below). Sadly the papers I used are no longer available ! Although I am going to try and hunt some down because I LOVE this pad.
If you want to see how I created the card in more detail then check out the video below.
I hope you enjoyed the video, as you can see the dies are lots of fun to work with and I think they have become a firm favorite with me already !
I wanted to show a bit closer of the detail I added with the pens and Distress ink and also the embossing detail from the dies. If I had planned it better then I would got some coffee beans and added them to the shaker but we only have ground !
I also wanted to show that you don’t just have to use Sequins or beads in a shaker card and I am really pleased with how it turned out.

Penguins in Paradise Shaker

Hey lovelies, I hope you all had a nice weekend with plenty of crafting.
I got a few crafting projects done and also some family time, so all in all it was a good weekend.
I have a fun card to share today, I have also created a video tutorial for this card over on the Spectrum Noir Blog it shows a simple way to colour black and white objects using your Ice Grey Spectrum Noir Markers, so head on over to the blog to check that out if you get chance.
I honestly cannot help smiling whenever I see this little dude and although the set comes with lots of sentiments I thought this one best suit this cool penguin…lets be honest he is pretty dam cool…that face !!
I wasn’t going to make a shaker card, but you guys all know me and sequins by now I just have to try and add them somewhere so a shaker seemed perfect for that.
The sequins were in the Simon Says Stamp May card kit along with the paper & card used, but I also added some extra sequins I had from Pretty Pink Posh and some really old ones in my stash.
I added some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle to his rubber ring and then added some glossy accents on top, as well as his beak and feet just to finish him off.
I do have the matching die set, but decided to fussy cut him as I didn’t want the white around the edge.
When I do another card with this guy I might do some paper piecing on his rubber ring, or maybe add some stripes. I also want to do another shaker with one of the other penguins in this set but with one of the Pretty Pink Posh Storybook dies…if you haven’t checked them out then do, although be warned you will probably be like me and want them all !!!
Thing I love most about this card was other than the the colouring nothing else was really planned and I honestly had SO much fun creating it.
I do hope it makes you smile as much as it had me.
I hope you all have a great day, thank you for stopping by.
