It takes time

Hello lovelies. I hope you are well ? Phew i nearly didnt make it on to blog today ! My cat Lily decided that she wanted some Mummy time and she was going to get it by laying on the desk and keyboard so i couldn’t get anything done.
How can I work with Lily being all cute on my desk ?! #cat #lilycat #nocraftingforme #toocute #furbaby
And who could resist her ! I know i never can. Anyway she is now off having a drink so I thought i’d jump on here quickly and blog before she comes back.
I wanted to share a card I made that used a technique from a tutorial on the Spectrum Noir Blog which is Adding depth using a Black Pencil By the Lovely Nicky. The tutorial can be found here
I have slightly mixed it up because I have used it around the edge of my stamped images rather than how Nicky has done on the tutorial.
I love this stamp set (link is at the bottom of this post) and wanted to use my Spectrum Noir Colourblend Pencils but really mix the colours up and make them nice and bright. I also wanted it too look like they was almost falling…hope that makes sense, i know it does in my head but that means nothing haha.
The sentiment is from a different stamp set along with the small flowers, but both worked so perfectly with this stamp for this card.
I really wanted it too be a flat card so it was easy to mail and also that the flowers were the main thing on the card.
I CANNOT resist these Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens, i am telling you I get Sparkle withdrawal if I don’t use them ! But here i only wanted a very small amount of sparkle so I just lightly brushed over using the clear sparkle. On this picture you can also see where I have used the Black pencils and blended it out to give some depth to the card.
I wasn’t going to mount the card but decided it needed something, black looked too much so i settled for Kraft card.
I really enjoyed this, it isn’t a WOW card but i find sometimes the simple ones are more fun.
I hope you like the card, dont forget to check out Nicky’s Tutorial
Have a great day.

Spectrum Noir Challenge – Anything Goes

Hello lovelies. I hope you are well and all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.
I am just getting back into the swing of things, so i am sorry for the lack of blog posts and visiting.
I wanted to share with you my latest card for the January Spectrum Noir Challenge.
The theme is Anything goes, you just have to use a Spectrum Noir Medium.
The prize is £30/$30 of Spectrum Noir Goodies.
To enter just click the banner below.
For my DT project I have used the new Colourblend Pencils and the no line technique.
The pencils are a rebrand of the previous Colourblend Pencils and come in 5 sets of 24 and are amazing !
This is such a fun technique, especially with pencils. The stamp is by Sheena (linked below) and I masked off the centre area and stamped around it.
You cannot see it much in this picture but using a gold Zig pen I drew a line along the edge of the centre area, it just shows through the vellum and looks very subtle.
The sentiment die was cut out of Centura Pearl (the card base was also made out of the same card).
I then finished off with my trusted sequins.
I hope you like the card, it was so much fun to do.
the Die and the Pencils were both new and used for the first time on this card.
Make sure you head on over to the Spectrum Noir Challenge and check out the rest of the teams brilliant projects.

New Spectrum Noir Challenge….Clean & Simple.

Morning lovelies, I hope you are all well ?
It is new challenge time over at Spectrum Noir, This months theme is super easy Clean & Simple.
All you need to do is use one of the Spectrru Noir Mediums on your project and then upload it to the challenge which can be found by clicking the image below.
The prize as always is £30/$30 of Spectrum Noir Products.
I used Spectrum Noir Aqua pens for my card, I get asked a lot on how I use these and do plan on doing a video in the new year. The main i use them is scribble onto my watercolour pallet and use just like watercolours, but my advice is too play around and find what works for you. I use to do watercolouring before I started crafting so the way i use them works best for me, but I know some people who get on better with using them pen direct to paper…play around and have fun 🙂
Anyway on to my card….
I have used a stamp set from Sheena (link below) and the tree branches I drew on myself using a brush and my Aqua’s. I then stamped onto some vellum with Versamark and Heat Embossed using WOW embossing powder, i cut the bottom edge of the vellum user my Crafter’s Companion trimmer on the wave setting. I then added just a couple of sequins and gems to finish.
I then mat and layered onto some black cardstock and added it too a 5.5×4.5 card base, it looks wonky in this pic but i promise that was just camera angle 🙂
Make sure you head on over to check the challenge out and see what my fellow teamies have been creating.
Thank you for stopping by

New Sheena Douglass Release….

Morning lovelies, I hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend…I cannot believe it is Thursday already !!! Who stole the week ??
Thank you for everyone stopping by, it always makes me smile reading all your comments.
Now I know I have a lot of Sheena Douglass fans on my blog list who will be excited about this….Sheena is launching some fab new stamps this weekend on Create & Craft !!
There is 6 in total and they are gorgeous ! Sheena Will also be launching some new paints by Pebeo and I have to say you need them ! I am totally in love with them, they are call Pebeo Dyna and are the most fantastic colours with amazing shimmer to them.
Anyway being a lucky inkoid I got to play with the paints and stamps and wanted to share some of my makes with them.
This one I decorated a notebook with the paints (told you they was lush) and then I used one of the new stamps and sponged over and stamped onto Crafter’s Companion Black card.
I love this stamp, I coloured some Sheena Stamping card with Broken China Distress ink and then stamped the image, Using the new paints I just added some colour…The sand is a lovely golden colour I just couldn’t get a good enough picture of it 😦 I then finished off with some Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges.
The Embossing Folder is by Sheena from her Taste Of India range.

I had fun doing this one 🙂 I painted some Crafter’s Companion Black Card using the Green Blue paint and then using one of Sheena Stencils (link is below) I sponged through using the Gold and Orange paint. I coloured the stamp using my Spectrum Noir Pens and then cut out to fit the die cut circle which I also painted with the Green Blue paint. I then Embossed the sentiment and 3D mounted onto the background.
I hope you like what I created, These stamps and paints are a total must (I know i will be buying the ones I don’t have !!)
You can catch Sheena on Create and Craft on
