Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Make It Sparkle

Hey lovelies, I hope you are well 🙂

It is Wednesday which means it is time for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

It is time for a new challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

This week the challenge is

Make It Sparkle

This week we are showcasing
Hero Arts You don’t have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I always work with white card but decided to go with black card for this.
I used a background stamp (all items are listed & linked below) and stamped it with Hero Arts Ombre Vintage Pigment ink and then heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder.
To give it some extra sparkle I then brushed over the top using Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen in gold.

I die cut the piece using some square dies and also die cut a square from the center and mounted some gold card stock behind it.
For the sentiment I  heat embossed it and used Simon’s Gold Embossing powder.
Once everything was adhered to the card I finished off by adding some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Star Sequins.
It was so hard to photograph this card but it has lots of sparkle and I love the effect from the Ombre ink.

So now it’s YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Spectrum Noir November Challenge

Hey lovelies, I hope you are all having a great week 🙂
Today I wanted to share with you my cards for this months Spectrum Noir challenge.
In case you hadn’t seen we have changed the challenge up a bit and the theme is always Anything Goes, but in order to win a Spectrum Noir prize package you need to follow the optional theme, which this month is Christmas.
I made not one card, but 3 for the challenge…well they are all similar just some different colours 🙂
I couldn’t resist this set when Clearly Besotted released it and have used it on most of my cards for close friends and family, I really do love him and so much fun to colour.
I used my Spectrum Noir Colourblend Pencils to colour all 3 and my IG1 & IG2 markers to draw a snowy ground (show up better in real life).
I coloured each image the same other than their saddles and scarfs and then I matched the trims down the side of the card to that colour.
I added some glitter detailing using my Quicky Glue pen and Elizabeth Crafts Diamond Glitter to this one, but I dont like the purple tone it gave so I would miss that out in future, for the others I used my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen which looks better.
For the sentiments I used the Basic Banner 3 set and matching die and stamped using Ranger dye ink.
For the background I used a snow stamp from last months Hero Arts kit with some silver pigment ink to give some shimmer, really like how this turned out.
The paper I used is sadly not in stock anywhere ( I am guessing it has been discontinued), it is Lawn Fawn 12 x 12 Peace Joy Love.
I resisted adding any sequins etc to these as I thought they didn’t really need it.
I hope you all like the cards, I really do highly recommend the set to everyone.
Don’t forget to check out the challenge
Have a lovely weekend and happy crafting

Clearly Besotted With some Sparkle

Hey, I hope everyone had a nice weekend ?
We did some planning for the garden and also for the remaining rooms in the house we have left to decorate, and dare I say it….Christmas !
Those who are on my Facebook know one of my favorite stamp companies are Clearly Besotted and their last release was, in my opinion one of their best.
From their last release was this super cute and fun set called “Be Lucky”.
Be lucky
As soon as I saw the samples using it I knew I HAD to get it….you all know what it is like.
My first card with the set had to be that cute unicorn.
My original thought was to colour using my pencils, but a few people have asked about blending with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens, so I thought a sparkly unicorn was too good not to do.
In the video below I show how I blend the pens, and also how I created the whole card, which includes using the Clear Sparkle Pen with Water based markers. I have also shown a way to use Press’n Seal when Ink Blending.
I hope you enjoyed the video. I changed the video and went for a lot less text…let me know what you think, I REALLY do value your opinions.

If you want a set that is fun and easy to colour then I highly encourage you to get this one, and how could you resist the cuteness !!!
As always I have linked all the supplies used below.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I hope you have an amazing day & Happy crafting

Colorista is coming…

Hey lovelies, I hope you are well ?
Some of you might have seen that Spectrum Noir is launching  new range called Colorista.
This is a range of coloring books, pencils & pens and I was very lucky to be able to play with the goodies before their release.
Before I show you some of my coloring I also wanted to let you know that Spectrum Noir are offering an 8 week FREE coloring course where you will receive e-books, downloads & video content, whilst this is based around the Colorista Range it will cover coloring basics that can be used within card making, and hey it is free so what do you have to lose ?
You can sign up for the course here
The Colorista range is something I have to be 100% honest about, I have tried the adult coloring books…infact I have a few, but didn’t like them as I found the paper quality was poor.
Me and the rest of the team working with the books have all commented on how amazing the cardstock in the books are….honestly its like coloring with butter on it, such smooth blending with pens & pencils !
The books also come in a variety of different finishes including Foil (for use with pencils) and also colourable glitter ! (for use with markers). They also come in A4 and smaller A5 size and with a number of different themes.
Anyway here is some of my colouring that I have done with the range.
With the range you can also buy a USB stick which is preloaded with tons of printable pages for you.
I printed one out, coloured the flowers and then made a card.
This is one of the A4 Foil books, I colored it using my pencils and then went over the top with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle. I have not used any blending solution, this shows how fab the pencils and also the paper are.

This is another one of the foiled books, but this is smaller A5…perfect for taking out and about.
For this one I again coloured with pencils but then one the butterflies I went over them with my Black Spectrum Noir sparkle pen and using a clean cloth I dabbed the color which left this effect.
This was a total fun, going in with lots of random colors type coloring.
This is an A5 Glitter pad. Most of the flowers and house are glitter so you can see how well it allows you to blend with your markers.
I loved colouring this one….but then I am a huge fan of lilies. It is from the USB and printed onto Neenah and coloured using the new Colorista Markers.
This is A4 from one of the larger books, and although it took me ages it honestly was so relaxing and i really enjoyed it.
For this one I wanted to show the how the pages looked coloured, against uncolored.
Along with the books Spectrum Noir are also launching a new range of pens and pencils specifically for the range.
The pens are Alcohol based Markers but come with a bullet nib and an ultra fine nib for all those tiny areas.
The range will be launching on HSN in USA at the end of August and then launching here in the UK soon after.
To be kept upto date with everything make sure you check out the Spectrum Noir Facebook page where there is also a ton of sample pics being shown from my amazingly talented teamies.
I will also have some more samples coming soon to show what you can do with your pages when you have finished colouring them.
I hope you all have a great day, thank you for stopping by.

Spectrum Noir July tutorial with Neat and Tangled- Fun Background with Spectrum Noir Aquablend Pencils

Hey all,I hope you are all well and having a lovely weekend ?
I wanted to share a couple of cards I made for my July tutorial over at Spectrum Noir Blog which can be found here It is a really fun and different technique to use with your Aquablend, or other watercolor pencils.
I have also used a couple of stamps by Neat and Tangled.
Ok don’t laugh but I have had these stamps for months now, but they have been a look at and stroke stamps, I know I am strange !!
But one of my things for this year is to start using ALL my craft supplies, mainly because like these stamps I have some pretty awesome stuff that just doesn’t get used.
But I am SO pleased I used them, the So Very Blessed stamp I masked off the sides, the stamp has a really pretty leaf arrangement around each side, but for this card I wanted it as simple as possible.
The fun thing about this technique is it can be used in so many ways and is SO simple.
I will be using it to creating sprinkles on cupcake stamps I have, if  you add less water they really do look like sprinkles, you can see in the So Very Blessed Card in some areas what I mean.
On the one above I used my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen to create some sparkly splatters.
I really like doing this to add just a little bit of sparkle and interest.

I didn’t want to, or think I needed to add much to these cards, so I die cut them using Stitched rectangle dies, added some Pretty Pink Posh sequins and mounted them onto black cardbase.
I hope you checked out the video tutorial, I really do encourage you to try this technique and if you do make sure you share your creations with me.
Thank you for stopping by.
Have an amazing day, and happy crafting

A little Snail Mail

Hey all, I hope you are all well ?
I’m sharing a card today featuring stamps from Sunny Studio Stamps, If you have never heard of them then make sure you head on over to their website and check them out. They are cutesy stamps, but slightly different and I LOVE their style they produce some awesome stamp sets, they also do some fab dies too so make sure you check the out.

I have used their Backyard Bugs set which I will confess I purchased as soon as I saw the snail in the set.
Sometimes something just needs googly eyes and this guy for me was crying out for them.
I created the main background by stamping onto some Simon Says Stamp card stock (all links are below) in Simon Says Stamp Fern ink with some of the smaller stamps in this set, I then coloured them and went over them my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen and die cut along the edges using  Lawn Fawns Stitched border die.
I coloured the images using the following Spectrum Noir Markers-
And fussy cut them out.
I applied some glossy accents to the toadstools spots and windows, and whilst I waited for that to dry I created the background.
I took some Neenah and using Twisted Citron & Tumbled Glass Distress inks and blended them to create a simple Grass-sky background.

The cloud is from the Mama Elephant Landscape trio set and I die cut some Neenah and stamped the “A little snail mail” sentiment along with two of the heart stamps using Simon Says Stamp Cobblestone ink….I did originally try this with vellum and embossing powder, but for this card it just didn’t look right to me.
I adhered the cloud to the background and then decided to using some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle over it…confession time, I squeezed the pen when I really shouldn’t have and ended up with a big drop on my distress ink background, I REALLY didn’t want to do the background again so I just flicked the pen across the background to give a sparkle splatter look…I am really not sure I like it, but I just went with it.
I then die cut the Stitched Square frame from Neenah and using some foam tape I adhered it to the inked square.
I then adhered the rest of the elements to the card, I decided to put the snail on the edge of the square and used some foam tape on him. I then adhered those googly eyes along with enamel dots and the card was done.

This card was a total non planned go with the flow type card, and I smile every time I look at it because that snail is just so much fun !
The toadstool house was brilliant to colour and you can see in the picture above the dimension from the Glossy Accents.
I have sent this card to a friend in the states and I hope it makes her smile.

Thank you all for stopping by my blog today.
I hope you all have an amazing day

Rainbow love with Spectrum Aqua & Pretty Pink Posh

Hiya, I hope you are all having a great day ?
I wanted to share another rainbow card I created for the Pretty Pink Posh Rainbow Challenge. I had this idea in my head after the awful events in Orlando.
The world definitely needs more love for everyone, that was the idea behind this card, And is something I firmly believe in.
I lined up the nesting heart dies on some Strathmore Water Colour cardstock and run it through my die cutting machine. I didn’t want to do any fancy colouring on the hearts so I took my Spectrum Aqua Markers and coloured each heart in the following colours:
Sunflower, Crimson, Budgreen & Kingfisher
Once dry I flicked some water over them and blotted it off with some tissue and then left them to dry.
I then used the largest heart and die cut it out of some Neenah so that I could create a inlaid die card.
I was going to leave it plain white but i kept looking and decided on flicking some colour across it, so I scribbled the same Spectrum Aqua colours  onto my mat and mixed it with some water and then using a small brush I flicked the colours across the card.
For the sentiment I die cut some Neenah, along with some black card and some black fun foam.
On the Black card and the Neenah I used my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen to add some sparkle and the I used my Xyron machine to apply adhesive to them.
I laid the Neenah slightly off centre over the black so the black acts kinda like a shadow…I really like this look, but it was fiddly to get it right….I will add it wasn’t helped by the fact that Chloe the cat was demanding my attention and attempting to steal some sequins !
I then adhered them to the fun foam to give it some dimension, I really wanted the love die to be quite dimensional.
I then started pulling the card together, I used some Ranger Multi Medium Matt to adhere the heart pieces and I used some more fun foam to adhere the whole panel to A2 card base.
I finished off with some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, a few are from some of their fab mixes and are all listed and linked below.
Speaking of Pretty Pink Posh I am entering this into the current Rainbow Challenge
I have to thank Paulina and the team, I have loved this challenge and really do have TONS more ideas.
Pretty Pink Posh: Rainbow Challenge
I will be making some more of these cards and mailing them out to people, just to try and spread a little bit of love. If you would like to receive one then let me know via email (email address is in my sidebar) and I will send some love through the post to you.
I hope you all have a great day. Thank you so much for stopping by to my little corner of blogland.

Spectrum Noir May Challenge- Flowers

Hiya lovelies, I hope you have all been having a good week ?
I haven’t done much crafting this week, but been doing lots of house stuff, which has been lovely. But i do have tons of crafty projects planned so i cannot wait to get back into my craft room today.
But before I do it is new challenge time over at Spectrum Noir, the theme this month is Flowers, perfect theme for this time of year.
Here is my design team card for the challenge.
I have used Stamps from Lawn Fawn (supplies are listed below) And coloured using my Spectrum Noir Markers & Sparkle Pens.
For the background I used Wood grain stamp from Lawn Fawn and stamped it with Hero Arts Wet Cement Shadow Ink, it is quite a narrow stamp so using my Misti I lined it up and stamped it cross the card.
The stamp set for the flowers is called Blissful Botanicals and has co-ordinating dies which once I coloured a selection of the flowers and leafs I die cut them all out and arranged them on the card, my original plan was to only have them in one corner, but the top corner look a bit bare so i added some there too. I used some foam tape to give them some dimension and added some clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle to some of the flowers.
The pink paper is from My Minds eye and I looked and looked for the pad online but cannot find it so i am guessing it is no longer available.
I tried a few different sentiments but decided a simple Happy Birthday one was best….especially as this was sent to my Great Aunt for her birthday…The happy die is from MFT and comes as a trio and is a really handy set to have.
I then stamped the birthday using Versafine Onyx Black.
And of course I had to add some sequins !!
The card base was created using some Kraft card to match the Happy die.
So there we have it, a nice flowery birthday card.
To check out the rest of the design teams amazing cards and enter the challenge click on the banner below. You could win $30/£30 of Spectrum Noir goodies.
Thank you for stopping by and also a huge thank you to everyone who takes the time to leave comments and check my out my videos it really does make my day.
Have a great day and happy crafting

You Inspire me

Morning lovelies, I hope you all had a nice weekend ?
Ours seemed to go far too quickly but we finally ordered the paint for our living room which I am really pleased about.
I wanted to share a quick card I made using some Lawn Fawn Stamps and Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils and Aqua Markers. As always supplies are listed at the bottom of this blog post.
I really wanted to do a watercolour background for this card, when i was creating the background it was a nice sunny day with beautiful blue sky so i think that infulenced me with the background. I also wanted the pencil colouring to be soft and not too much detail…the overall look i was going for was soft i guess the word is.
I am totally addicted to vellum and honestly would use it on every single card and have to really stop myself from doing so !
Here is the card and I hope you like it.
I used some foam tape to pop the middle flower up. I of course used some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle over the top of the flowers to give just a tiny bit of sparkle.
I stamped the sentiment used Versafine onto some vellum and added these 3 little flowers, when they was dry i used some of the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle.
Thank you for stopping by and visiting. I hope you all have an amazing day.
Happy Crafting

It takes time

Hello lovelies. I hope you are well ? Phew i nearly didnt make it on to blog today ! My cat Lily decided that she wanted some Mummy time and she was going to get it by laying on the desk and keyboard so i couldn’t get anything done.
How can I work with Lily being all cute on my desk ?! #cat #lilycat #nocraftingforme #toocute #furbaby
And who could resist her ! I know i never can. Anyway she is now off having a drink so I thought i’d jump on here quickly and blog before she comes back.
I wanted to share a card I made that used a technique from a tutorial on the Spectrum Noir Blog which is Adding depth using a Black Pencil By the Lovely Nicky. The tutorial can be found here
I have slightly mixed it up because I have used it around the edge of my stamped images rather than how Nicky has done on the tutorial.
I love this stamp set (link is at the bottom of this post) and wanted to use my Spectrum Noir Colourblend Pencils but really mix the colours up and make them nice and bright. I also wanted it too look like they was almost falling…hope that makes sense, i know it does in my head but that means nothing haha.
The sentiment is from a different stamp set along with the small flowers, but both worked so perfectly with this stamp for this card.
I really wanted it too be a flat card so it was easy to mail and also that the flowers were the main thing on the card.
I CANNOT resist these Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens, i am telling you I get Sparkle withdrawal if I don’t use them ! But here i only wanted a very small amount of sparkle so I just lightly brushed over using the clear sparkle. On this picture you can also see where I have used the Black pencils and blended it out to give some depth to the card.
I wasn’t going to mount the card but decided it needed something, black looked too much so i settled for Kraft card.
I really enjoyed this, it isn’t a WOW card but i find sometimes the simple ones are more fun.
I hope you like the card, dont forget to check out Nicky’s Tutorial
Have a great day.
