Some Newton’s Nook loving. Spectrum Noir February Challenge.

Hello lovelies, how are you all ? I have been totally lazy today and all I have done is printed off some photos and framed them…that really is all I have done and it is 3:30pm here ! But on the plus side I have also been online window craft shopping, which is always fun.
Today I am sharing with you a super cute card featuring the newest release from Newton’s Nook which Is for the February Challenge over at Spectrum Noir.
The theme for this months challenge is Colours of love- Use Red or Pink. It doesn’t have to be a Valentines card, it just has to have either red or pink on it somewhere and use a Spectrum Noir Medium…easy or what !
Now if you haven’t ever seen  Newton’s Nook stamps then where have you been, they made brilliant fun stamps and I was SO lucky to win a set from their latest release.
For my card I have created a background using two of the heart stamps from the set, the bigger hearts I wanted kinda a distressed look so I blotted some of the ink before stamping…not sure if it turned out how i thought it would, but i kinda like it.
I coloured the image….just how adorable is this image ? with my Spectrum Noir Markers and then cut out using a heart die by Die’sire, I then very lightly inked around the edge using Distress Ink in Spun Sugar.
The frame is by Memory Box and I thought went perfectly with this set.
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I then finished off with some sequins (hey i just can’t leave the sequins alone) and a couple of tiny gems.
I really had so much fun with this card, I love the stamp set and cannot thank the guys at Newton’s Nook enough for it.

You Colour My World.

Hello lovelies, I hope you are all well ? Sorry for not being around for a few days we have been decorating our living room finally ! and I have to admit it looks lovely. Even the cats and Miley the dog decided to help (you can imagine the mess).
But anyway i hope you all had a nice weekend with lots of creating 🙂
I wanted to share a Valentines card with you today. Now I have to admit me and the hubs do not celebrate Valentines so it isn’t something I normally really do cards for, but i don’t know why this year I am feeling the love a lot, and there really is some amazing Valentines crafting items around that I cannot resist.
Saying the above the card I have made I have used not a Valentines stamp set.
Now you know when you are sitting there watching a movie or something and a card idea comes to you ? well this came to me at 3am when i was sat in bed with Chloe cat demanding a fuss…I know my brain is weird and always comes up with these ideas at random times.
I LOVE this stamp set by Lawn Fawn (it is called Color my world),  the little hearts are from another Lawn Fawn Set (Love you S’more), this set comes with a smiley face that you can stamp on the crayons, but it is Valentines so I HAD to use the heart 🙂
I have coloured this using Spectrum Noir markers and for the pink crayons I have used a previous tutorial on the Spectrum Noir blog on Pink colour focus which can be found here
The border of the shaker is made from Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares dies and all i did was mat and layer them onto some kraft card and run them through my die cutting machine.
The sentiment I stamped the word colour using an old Pigment inkpad and heat set with clear embossing powder. I then stamped the rest of the sentiment with Versamark ink pad and then heat embossed using WOW white embossing powder.
The background of the shaker is made using Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers, I wet down some watercolour cardstock and then scrubbled my markers onto my pallet and then added them to the paper and let the water do its job, when dry I added some flicks of water and blotted it off with tissue.
I really do think I have a sequin obsession, these are from Taylored Expressions and are amazing !
I wanted to add some hearts so I created these using the Banner Parade Die from Memory Box.
And there you go a fun shaker card using non Valentines Stamps.
Why not go look through your stamps and see what you can create ?
Have a great day and happy crafting

For my design team card I have used Happiness.
I went for a vintage/grunge feel for this card, I printed onto Kraft card and then coloured the heart with my Spectrum Noirs, I then sprinkled over some Ruby red Slippers.
I used my Dylusions to flick some colour across and stamped using a Script Stamp.
I added some cheesecloth & Stitched around the edges and mounted it onto a card blank.

This shows the Ruby red Slippers., and shows where I randomly sprinkled some around the card.

Globecraft & Piccolo …He who holds the key

Hiya everyone, its Tuesday so that mean Globecraft & Piccolo time.
Now as Valentines day is creeping up I decided to spread a little bit of love and make a Vintage style Pendant using one of the awesome Acrylic Craft Charms
I am really happy how this turned out. Here is how I made it…
1. I made my own backing paper (It reads he who holds the key to my heart) and crumpled it up and then distressed it and rubber some gold wax around the edges, this was then glued onto the Bezel
2. I then took one of the hearts from Keys to my Heart Piccolo set give it two layers of Ruby Red Slippers Enamel Powder…The below picture shows just how beautiful this Enamel powder is.
3. I also used one of the keys from Keys to my heart Piccolo Set and used Copper Kettle Enamel Powder…I only gave this one rough layer as I wanted it to have an old look to it

4. I then took Instant UV resin and put a fine layer down and placed the heart and key into it, I then left it on my window sil for a few mins to set, i then gave it another coat and again left on window sil to set….I love this product ! A definite must have, I wanted a old look to this whole thing so was very “rough” with how i applied the resin, I also wanted to create a look like you get with Amber and you have items floating and bubbles etc…I was very wary about doing it but I think it has work just how i pictured it would.
This picture shows just how fab the shine is on the resin. I simply then added some vintage ribbon to finish it off.

Now between me and you I have seen there is some new items over on the website so make sure you check them out.
Also don’t forget we have some brilliant inspiration from the rest of the team post regularly so make sure you keep checking back on the Globecraft & Piccolo Blog
Happy Crafting 🙂
